Earl Yen, Managing Director

Mr. Yen is a founder and Managing Director of CSV; he has over 20 years of alternative investment and investment banking experience in Greater China and the US. 

Prior to founding CSV in 2004, he spent over 11 years at Citigroup and Bear Stearns, where he was a senior investment banker in Asia and helped over 25 Chinese state-owned and private enterprises on their overseas IPOs. He previously spent three years at HarbourVest Partners, an alternative investment firm, based in the US.

Mr. Yen has lived continuously in China and Hong Kong since 1994. He holds a master’s degree from the MIT Sloan School of Management and bachelor’s degrees in electrical engineering and management from MIT.

Mr. Yen is currently a board director of CDP Group, China’s largest provider of payroll processing and other outsourced HR services. He was previously a board director of Roadway, China’s leading provider of database marketing services (acquired by Dun & Bradstreet).
